LOOKING BACK
RUSHMOOR BOROUGH COUNCIL - A big thank for Rushmoor's continued support for the St. Augustine's Parent and Toddler Group which meets every Tuesday in the church hall.  The council recently gave the group a grant of £700 towards running costs and new equipment.  More details about the group from Fr. Keith.

GIVING AND RECEIVING- An enthusiastic group of ladies from church ran a home made produce stall at Aldershot's Victoria Day raising a magnificent £360 for church funds!  Our recent coffee mornings enabled us to send donations to Christian Aid and also the emergency appeals for Burma and China, nearer home £100 was donated to our local 'Step by Step'.

LOOKING FORWARD
SIXTIES NIGHT - We are having a sixties night on September 13th!  It should be fun, dancing and 60s food and fashion!  What about drink?  Mine's a babycham!  All proceeds will go towards paying for the new church hall kitchen.

HARVEST FESTIVAL- Sunday September 28th - the proceeds from our Harvest Festival will once again be part of our ongoing support for ' The Source' youth cafe in Aldershot.  More information about the source can be found at www.the sourcecafe.co.uk.

COFFEE MORNINGS - The usual monthly coffee mornings will take place on Wednesdays September 17th, October 22nd and November 19th, 10 - 11 a.m. in the Church Hall - on your own, why not come along and join us?  We have a raffle and a game of bingo and all the money raised goes to good causes.

JUMBLE SALE - The Church's Autumn Jumble Sale will take place on Saturday October 18th back to our old start time - 2.00 p.m.  Jumble collection the week before - telephone Jim on 325677.

QUIZ NIGHT - Our next quiz night will take place on Saturday November 15th at 7.30 p.m.  The evening will have an all Christmas theme.  Teams of four, Tickets £5.00 - this includes supper but bring your own drink.  Details on 658066 or 320840.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR - Saturday 22nd November 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.  We need gifts for the stalls, especially raffle prizes, bottles and toiletries.  Christmas draw tickets available at the end of September.  Could you sell some draw tickets for us?  Get in touch with Fr. Keith now.  We need to make well over £2000 this year, nearer £3000 would be better - with your support we can do it!

WEDDINGS - It's not too late to book a date with Fr. Keith for 2009.  St. Augustine's makes an attractive venue for your special day.

CHURCH HALL KITCHEN - By the time this edition of 'Reaching Out' is delivered, the new kitchen should be nearing completion.  The work has cost us in the region of £16,000, more than we anticipated and so we still need to raise about £10,000.  So far my appeal to the wider community for donations has only produced £150; as the kitchen benefits all who use the hall it would be good to see a few more donations coming in, instead of all the burden just falling on our regular Sunday congregation.  If you feel able to help, donations will be gratefully received at the Vicarage.

COMMUNITY NEWS
NORTH TOWN PARTNERSHIP - At the last meeting of the North Town Partnership we were brought up to date on a number of local projects.  It looks as though the new children's play area equipment will be installed in Denmark Square soon.  Pavillion have sent out a user survey for the local Community base, and we will be looking at the results at our September meeting and hearing about the refurbishment that is to take place in the Autumn.
